Wild Birds Unlimited Hummingbird feeder review
I bought this feeder last summer to solve one problem. My old bottle-style feeder was hard to keep clean. I was searching for a new feeder and came across this model. It comes in three sizes—I decided to go with the smallest of the three. I paid $22.99 plus tax at my local Wild Birds Unlimited store in Oklahoma City, OK.
- three feeding ports
- 8 oz capacity (12 oz and 16 oz sizes are also available)
- ant moat (blocks crawling insects)
- easy cleaning
- perch is higher for better viewing of birds
- lifetime guarantee
This Wild Birds Unlimited hummingbird feeder opens up and allows you to scrub all the parts very easily. The ant moat in the middle of the feeder is great. Just add water, which results in added protection from crawling insects from taking over your feeder. The moat has three holes at the top to stop it from overflowing when it rains. The staff at my local Wild Bird Unlimited opened the box and gave me instructions on using the feeder. The number one tip that I was given was not to over tighten the hook when screwing it onto the feeder. I really appreciated the service from the staff at the store.
The Hummingbird feeders sold by Wild Birds Unlimited are manufactured by a company called Aspects, Inc. You can find Aspects-branded feeders on Amazon. I have provided Amazon links to the 8 oz, 12 oz, and 16 oz Aspects-branded feeders below. The 8 oz feeder is available on Amazon for around $18. Amazon would not allow me to link to the single version of the 8 oz feeder. I could only post the two pack link, so if you click that link you can change the quantity on Amazon. On mobile devices you might need to click the button links.
See below for images of the feeder.
In the future I will create a post on how I make the nectar for my feeder and my process for cleaning my feeders.
